LGZA Grading Standards:

At LGZA, we use a 6-point grading system based on the following criteria:

  • Centering (CTR): This is the grading cap and has the greatest impact on the final grade unless corners or edges come into effect.
  • Condition: This reflects the combined condition of corners and edges, as corners are connected to edges.
  • Edges: Self-explanatory.
  • Corners: Self-explanatory.
  • Surface: Covers the condition of the print, including creases, dents, dinks, overall surface condition, scratches, and visible damage.
  • Visual Integrity (VIG): This disregards minimal or non-visible surface scratches at close or distant view, and considers the card’s texture. It can either upgrade or downgrade the final grade depending on severity.

Each card booked in for grading starts with 12,500 points. Points are deducted based on the overall condition of the card throughout the grading process. Centering is assessed first as it has a significant effect on the final grade. If centering is visibly off, we use a simple measurement tool to confirm. For near-perfect centering, we use a laser measurement for precise accuracy.

Please note that the centering score itself does not determine the final grade but provides an estimate. However, if all other aspects of the card are perfect and the centering cap score is below 10, the card cannot receive a grade of 10.
